Job Description
Title: Site Coordinator Department: Field Services Echologics, a world leader in Leak Detection and Condition Assessment of Water Mains requires a temporary site coordinator to help execute our rapidly growing volume of work. This position will be a temporary contract position beginning in mid-March 2017 with full time work hours for 4 months between April and July, work hours after this time will be based on business needs. The successful candidate will participate in our watermain condition assessment project in Maryland. This position requires a degree or diploma and/or extensive experience with on-site testing in utilities or underground infrastructure industries. This position will involve a mix of field support, administrative, data analysis, reporting and subcontractor coordination duties and will involve travel within Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties. S/he will be responsible for maintaining productive and positive relationships with our test hole excavation subcontractor as well as field support as needed. Most of the work will be outdoors, conducting and supporting leak detection and condition assessment data collection. Required Education or Experience: • Basic knowledge of Project Management • Degree or diploma and/or 2 years’ experience in leading projects, and technical experience in engineering or underground infrastructure industries Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Competencies: • Excellent organizational skills • Interpersonal and communications skills to build positive relationships and resolve issues • Computer skills with Microsoft Office and basic electronics troubleshooting • Some experience doing outdoor field work, or outdoor hobbies • Superior verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrated ability to problem solve technical issues and work independently • Valid work authorization in the United States • Clean driving history The following experience and qualifications would be assets in this position: • Familiarity with water distribution systems, or experience in utility industries • Level 1 or greater water operator license • Experience with field use of testing equipment, such as surveying, sample collection, underground utility locating, GPS, etc. • Experience in leak detection of water systems is a strong asset Responsibilities: • Project logistics planning and coordination • Conducting and supporting leak detection surveys of distribution and transmission water mains • Conducting and supporting condition assessment measurements on distribution mains • Project tracking and monitoring that requires meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail • Management of equipment for leak detection and condition assessment projects • Oversee potholing teams to ensure they perform their duties and responsibilities • Manage the day to day subcontractor flow of work, such as: o Tracking project status o Communicating results o Time tracking o Creating daily progress reports for the Echologics project team • Notify Echologics as soon as any delays in production from subcontractors are observed and document reasons • Working in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation • Depending on project schedules, other duties assigned by Echologics
